The road to December 5

| Sept 21 | Nomination forms become available to aspiring presidential candidates. |
| Nov 3 to Nov 14 | Presidential nominations. Candidates and their agents submit nomination papers to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). |
| Nov 16 to Dec 3 | Official campaign period. It opens two days after nominations close and ends two days before polling day. |
| Dec 5 | Presidential Election Day. Polls open across The Gambia and every registered voter casts a ballot. |
Dates are based on the IEC timetable at the time of writing. The IEC is the final authority, so check iec.gm for any updates.

Go to your polling station
You vote at the polling station you were assigned when you registered. Not sure where that is? Check with the IEC at iec.gm or your local IEC office before Election Day.
Bring your voter card
Your voter card is your proof of registration, so bring it with you. If you have lost it, contact the IEC now to learn your options before December 5.
Cast your vote
The Gambia votes with a marble and a drum. An IEC official will explain the process at your station. It is private and takes only a few minutes. Your finger is marked with indelible ink, then call your family and friends and make sure they go too.

Community leaders
Your influence reaches further than you think. Make sure your community knows the date, knows where to go, and has a plan to get there.
You cannot vote from abroad. You can still move the vote.
Call your family. Send them this page. Remind them the date is December 5 and ask if they know where their polling station is. Offer to help with transport if they need it. Nation building does not stop at the border.
