On Election Day
Three steps. Show up. Vote. Go home proud.
1
Go to the center where you registered
You vote at the same IEC center where you registered. You cannot vote at a different location. If you are unsure where you registered, check at iec.gm or contact your local IEC office before election day.
2
Bring your voter ID card
Your voter ID card is your proof of registration. Bring it with you. If you have lost it, contact the IEC as soon as possible at iec.gm to find out your options before December 5.
3
Cast your vote and encourage everyone around you to do the same
The Gambia uses a marble and drum voting system. An IEC official will explain the process at your polling station. It is simple, private, and takes just a few minutes. Then call your family and friends and make sure they go too.
What to bring on election day
Polls open early and close at a set time. Do not leave it until the last hour. Go in the morning if possible to avoid long queues later in the day.
Election Day

One day. One vote. One chance
to build the Gambia you believe in.
to build the Gambia you believe in.
This is for you
First-time voters
You registered. You are ready. Show up on December 5 and cast the first vote of the rest of your life. It matters more than you know.
Every registered voter
You took the time to register. Do not let that effort go to waste. Election day is the moment your registration becomes real power.
Community leaders
Your influence reaches further than you think. Make sure everyone in your community knows the date, knows where to go, and has a plan to get there.
A message to the diaspora
You cannot vote from abroad. But you can make sure everyone back home does.
Call your family. Send them this page. Remind them the date is December 5. Ask them if they know where their polling station is. Offer to help arrange transport if needed. The diaspora has always supported The Gambia from afar. This is one more way to do it. Nation building does not stop at the border.
Think Big. Build Big.
The Gambia is built by Gambians who show up.
