Why it matters
Young Gambians are the majority of voters in this country. That is not a small thing. That is power. The only way that power disappears is if you don't show up. Register. Vote. Build.
How to register
Three steps. One visit. Done.
1
Gather your document
You only need one accepted form of ID. See the list below. If you have it, you are ready to go.
2
Go to your nearest IEC registration center
Registration centers are the same locations as polling stations. You vote where you register, so choose the center closest to where you live. Find your nearest center at iec.gm.
3
Register in person and you are done
Show up, present your document, and complete your registration. That is it. You are now on the voter roll for the December 5, 2026 presidential election.
Accepted documents — bring any one of these
The IEC states that no applicant should be turned away when presenting any of these documents. If you are turned away, contact the IEC directly at iec.gm.

This page is for you
Young Gambians
If you turned 18 before December 5, 2026, you are eligible. This may be your first election. Make it count. The leaders you choose will shape the next decade of your life.
Not registered yet?
If you sat out the last election or missed registration, the window is open right now. This is the one chance before December. Don't wait and regret it.
Still on the fence?
Choosing not to vote is still a choice. It just means someone else decides what happens to your country, your roads, your jobs, your family. Your voice belongs in this.
A message to the diaspora
You left to build a better life. Help build a better Gambia for the ones who stayed.
You may not be able to vote from abroad, but you can make sure every family member, friend, and neighbor back home is registered and knows what is at stake. Call them. Send them this page. Tell them the window closes May 21. Nation building does not stop at the border, and neither does your responsibility to The Gambia.
